What Is Yoga?

Yoga, is a form of exercise which was invented by the ancient Indian yogi and practitioner of this practice as a way to transform the body, mind, and life. Yoga is a holistic form of physical exercise which incorporates a variety of activities like breathing exercises, stretching, relaxing, and meditation. A couple of our old tricks can be adapted into this also. You will learn how to execute all steps in this video guide. A Quick Explanation In simple words, yoga is any physical activity that you do as part of your daily life. It could be running, walking, climbing, and any other activity that you choose to do. And these are not any of those boring routine exercises but something that you are much used to. It involves all of your senses which include sight, smell, touch, hearing, etc.

Yoga Asanas - The Physical Practice

Breath Control Chanting Practicing Qi Gong The Visible and the Invisible Arjuna pose is an asana named after Arjuna, a character from the Hindu epic Mahabharata. Anasana is a standard name for any type of asana which resembles the shape of an "X". The straight leg is the starting point of asanas. A wrist (right or left) bent at about 90 degrees should be used to turn the foot on the pelvis and press the toes up. The middle of the foot should be slightly angled forward with a little twist, and the ankle should be bent about 45 degrees. Cobra is one of the most commonly known asanas, as it may be done at almost any part of the body and with any person. It is said to be a body cleansing exercise. Lie down on the back, and let the hands support the back of the head.

Yoga In Practice

by Yogi Aditya Trivedi, Expert at Think Fitness Yoga is as simple as breathing, what you do with it is completely up to you. Yoga has been a growing practice in the western world in recent decades. While many think yoga is a lot about meditation, it is an entire body approach to wellness. Yoga offers many benefits, it helps in correcting weak links in the body and brings the body and mind into harmonious harmony. It also gives you the power to make your body become stronger than your mind. Types Of Yoga There are many types of yoga depending on your need. Depending on what your goals are, you can choose from a variety of yoga options.

Conclusion

I hope that I have given you enough information about yoga so you can move in any direction. To start with I would recommend you to see a good Yoga teacher, or simply do asanas for a week. The most important thing that I have learnt during my first class was just to breathe. I tried all the postures but I didn’t understand them properly. I couldn’t understand why my mind was saying, "If I try to stand here, the following breath would be so painful. If I try to sit here, my body would be tensed." I tried all the postures but with one practice I finally realised that my mind was thinking like that because it is rigid and when I put it in motion, then the body started to work in a natural way. So, be gentle with yourself, don't push the limits.
